Sean Michael McCarthy, Esquire

Mr. McCarthy is a Colorado attorney who practices criminal defense in the Denver area. He has 15 years of experience in criminal law and represents clients in all courts within the Denver Metro area as well as select courts in other parts of Colorado .

After working for many years as a prosecuting attorney, Mr. McCarthy has maintained his own practice for the past 11 years. He is skilled and experienced in all phases of courtroom trial practice, including: preliminary hearings, transfer hearings, suppression hearings, motions hearings, jury selection, opening statements, direct and cross-examination and closing statements. In his last 16 jury trials taken to verdict, Mr. McCarthy has obtained acquittals for clients in nine of those cases.

Moreover, in his last two felony jury trials, Mr. McCarthy has obtained a hung-jury mistrial in one case and a complete acquittal in the other.

Mr. McCarthy received his law degree in 1988 from the New England School of Law, and is admitted to practice in Massachusetts (since 1988) and Colorado (since 1991). He is licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, and is also a member of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar Association.
