Michael R. Shapray, Esquire

Mr. Shapray is admitted to practice in Ontario (1997) and British Columbia (2000), Canada .

A former Ad Hoc Prosecutor, Mr. Shapray was recently retained as special counsel to the court for the Air India trial currently taking place in Vancouver . This case is the longest and most complex criminal prosecution in Canadian history and involves an alleged conspiracy to blow up two airplanes.

Mr. Shapray's client had his manslaughter conviction overturned at the Ontario Court of Appeal.

R. v. Grenier

Mr. Shapray earned his client an acquittal after a trial on charges of forcible confinement and robbery.

Mr. Shapray is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Criminal Law Section (Vancouver), the Vancouver Trial Lawyers Association and the Law Society of British Columbia. He graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1995.
