Mr. Schwartz has been a regular guest criminal law commentator for Catherine Crier Live on the Court T.V. Network, the ESPN morning show and for FOX news. Mr. Schwartz served the People of the State of New York as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County from 1993 through 1997. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Schwartz handled thousands of criminal prosecutions. He successfully tried numerous felonies and misdemeanor cases which lead to the conviction and incarceration of many criminals. He was centrally involved with the investigation of high profile arson and economic criminal cases which lead to the indictment of numerous individuals. Mr. Schwartz was member of Project Legal Lives, whereby he lectured fifth grade students once a week on various criminal law topics and on the importance of staying in school and staying away from drugs. Consequently, Mr. Schwartz received awards from District Attorney, Charles J. Hynes, for his dedication, involvement and his serving as a judge for the annual mock trial competitions that the children performed. David Schwartz has been engaged in the private practice of law from 1997 to present. He was formerly a partner in the firm of Kelleher, Leone & Schwartz, LLP, with offices located in lower Manhattan . Presently, he is the Principal of the Law Offices his practice in commercial and Criminal Litigation, Government Relations and Appeals. Mr. Schwartz is admitted and appears in the United States District Court of New York, Eastern and Southern Districts United States Tax Court, New York State Supreme Court, New York City Criminal and Civil Court . Mr. Schwartz has argued appeals in the New York State Appellate Division, First and Second Departments. Furthermore, he has appeared Pro Hoc Vice in the United States District of New Jersey. The American Bar Association David M. Schwartz is committed to working diligently for community service. On March 22, 2004, Mr. Schwartz was appointed by Governor Pataki to the MTA Inspector General Management Advisory board. He has been a past sponsor and coordinator of the American Heart Association, “Bounce for Beats” program in New Orleans , Louisiana ,. He has defended victims of horrible crimes such as domestic violence, rape, robbery and families of murder victims. He has also been responsible for the freedom of criminal defendants who were wrongfully accused, both in his work as a prosecutor and a private attorney. In fact, in September of 2002, Mr. Schwarz got an acquittal for a doctor who was wrongfully accused of murder in a trial that lasted 5 weeks and was covered by the major New York newspapers. Moreover, he has defended patients by taking on the manufacturers of endoscopes and by pushing the medical community to enact tougher medical standards.
